--Kieran, Lucas, Matilda &Yu Xing  -

This website looks at the subject of farming local native plants and animals in Africa. Growing local plants and animals for human consumption in Africa protects the environment from foriegn plants animals and the dieseases/pests that they risk to bring with them and should create a more sustainable and reliable ecosystem to farm and feed the growing population. Most native plants and animals grow best in the environment that they would naturally be found in and would need less attention and maintenance than none-native plants. This subject of growing native plants in their country of origin was chosen because we thought it would be far easier to feed the growing population and estimated nine billion people by 2050. This website mainly focuses on Africa, but can be focused on countries all around the world to create a more natural and friendly environment.

Introduction

Why do we think it's a better solution than others?

We think this solution is better than others as it is more cost efficient and sustainable to use the plants that are already in the country that the local population know grow well there. Using native produce is more cost efficient because you wouldn’t have to pay to import edible plants and the animals from other countries and you can save the money from that to build better farms for the plants and animals.
